Christy Whalen joined the Rancho Santa Fe Association in 2015 as Communications Manager, and was promoted to Assistant Manager & Covenant Administrator and Interim Manager prior to being appointed Association Manager and Board Secretary in 2018.
Christy has 30 years’ experience in leadership, management, project administration and communications. With a degree in Mass Communications, she began her career as a newspaper journalist. She worked as company spokesperson for Northwest Airlines with a specialty in crisis communications. She has experience at marketing, advertising and public relations firms providing services to companies in the transportation/aviation, logistics, custom publishing, healthcare, and golf/private club industries.
Christy is a Certified Community Association Manager; she is a member of the California Association of Community Managers (CACM) and the national Community Associations Institute (CAI). Christy previously served on her city's Advisory Planning Commission. She has been elected to non-profit organization boards, including National Charity League, Parent Teacher Association and Las Madres.
Christy enjoys hiking with her dog, international travel, and food and wine.
