much of the Association's legal authority to regulate development

The
Rancho Santa Fe Association Residential Design Guidelines
(1991; Amended 1992) This booklet is the result of a community consensus
project to define standards for sites, architecture and landscaping.
It is intended for use by builders, members, decision-makers and staff
to guide residential development so that future permit approvals will
work to maintain the traditional character of the community. Winner
of "Honorable Mention for Planning Implementation by Small Jurisdiction" by the San Diego Section of the American Planning Association, 1992.

Village Commercial District Architectural Design Guidelines
(1990) This booklet provides design guidance for construction,
remodeling and restoration in the Village core of the Rancho Santa
Fe community. Through numerous photographs and sketches, this guidebook
captures the essence of the Spanish revival adaptation which was
originally established in the Village by Lillian Rice. Winner of
an "Award of Merit for Outstanding Specific Planning or Program" by the San Diego Section of the American Planning Association, 1991.

Bylaws
The Rancho Santa Fe Association Bylaws were originally adopted in August 1927. This document, which has been amended from time to time, provides the basic operating design for the organization. It establishes membership criteria, the conduct of meetings, the duties of Association directors and officers, and the general procedures for hearings. The Protective Covenant and the Bylaws provide for the appointment of a professional Manager and staff. View HERE.
